1. What is Advanced Sonography Screening™?
Advanced Sonography Screening™ provides preventive cardiovascular ultrasound tests designed to detect early signs of heart and vascular disease risk. Our goal is to help individuals understand their cardiovascular risk before symptoms appear.
2. What makes preventive ultrasound screening important?
Cardiovascular disease often develops with no symptoms. Preventive screening helps detect early changes in your arteries and vascular system long before a life-threatening event occurs.
3. What is the difference between a screening and a diagnostic study?
Preventive cardiovascular screenings are designed to identify certain risk factors for cardiac and vascular conditions in a way that is cost-effective, accessible, and convenient.
However, no test is 100% accurate, and these screenings do not replace a comprehensive medical exam or physician-ordered diagnostic testing. Screenings are meant to inform and guide, not diagnose.
4. Are these screenings diagnostic?
No. All screenings are preventive and non-diagnostic, designed to support early detection and risk awareness.
5. Will I receive a diagnosis from the screening?
No. These screenings identify potential risk factors but do not provide a medical diagnosis. Any abnormal findings should be reviewed with your healthcare provider.
6. I already have a doctor. Why consider Advanced Sonography Screening™?
Our screenings do not replace your physician’s care—they complement it. We provide additional insight into your cardiovascular health that your doctor may use to help reduce your risk.
After your screening, you’ll receive a detailed report highlighting any abnormal findings, which you are encouraged to share with your physician for further evaluation.
7. Who should get screened?
Anyone over the age of 18 can benefit from a baseline cardiovascular screening.
Screenings are especially recommended for those who:
- Have a family history of heart attack, stroke, aneurysm, or early cardiovascular disease
- Have high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, or prediabetes
- Smoke or have a history of smoking
- Are overweight, have increased abdominal fat, or lead a sedentary lifestyle
- Experience stress, poor sleep, or chronic inflammation, which increase long-term risk
- Are over the age of 40 and want proactive, preventive heart and vascular health monitoring
- High-intensity athletes or endurance athletes, including marathon runners, triathletes, cyclists, or individuals engaged in heavy training
8. Do I need a doctor’s referral?
No referral is required. Anyone interested in understanding their cardiovascular risk may schedule a screening.
9. What tests are included in the CardioProtect™ packages?
Depending on the package chosen, tests may include:
- Basic Heart Ultrasound (Heart function & significant valve disease)
- Carotid Artery Ultrasound Screening
- Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA) Screening
- Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD) Screening by QuantaFlo® PAD
- Carotid Intima-Media Thickness (CIMT) Ultrasound

12. Is ultrasound safe?
Yes. Ultrasound is one of the safest imaging modalities available—radiation-free, non-invasive, and FDA-approved—and has been used in medicine for decades.
13. Can individuals with pacemakers or pregnant individuals undergo the screening?
Yes. Ultrasound is safe for individuals with pacemakers and pregnant individuals, as it does not use radiation or affect medical devices.
14. What type of equipment is used?
We use state-of-the-art Doppler color-flow ultrasound systems, the same technology used in hospitals, clinics, and emergency rooms.
All ultrasound machines and equipment used by Advanced Sonography Screening™ are FDA-approved.
15. Who performs the ultrasound screenings?
Our ultrasounds are performed by highly trained, certified sonographers who completed formal education, clinical hospital rotations, and specialized cardiovascular training.
They hold professional credentials such as American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
16. Is the screening procedure painful?
No. Ultrasound screening is painless, non-invasive, and involves no needles, no blood work, and no radiation. It is similar to the ultrasound commonly used during pregnancy.
17. Do I need to remove any clothing?
No. You do not need to remove any clothing. Some areas such as the neck, chest, or abdomen may require the clothing to be slightly adjusted for proper access, but full undressing is not necessary.
18. How long does a screening appointment take?
Most screening appointments take 45–60 minutes, depending on the CardioProtect™ package selected.
19. How will I receive my results?
Your results will be emailed securely within 10–14 business days, including findings and explanations reviewed by board-certified cardiologists.
20. How often should I have a screening?
Many individuals choose screening once a year as part of their preventive healthcare routine. Because cardiovascular conditions can progress silently over time, regular screenings help you track changes and stay proactive.
