Dr. Ramy Barsoum is a physician who brings a global perspective to patient care. After graduating from Minia University Medical School in Egypt in 2012, Dr. Ramy Barsoum began his medical journey in rural, underserved areas as a general practitioner for the Ministry of Health and Population. During this formative time, he honed his expertise through extensive training in point-of-care ultrasound across specialties. 

Propelled by his passion for cardiac care, Dr. Ramy Barsoum then started a Cardiology residency, gaining invaluable experience in cardiac and intensive care units at major hospitals in Egypt. With advanced cardiovascular knowledge and a commitment to serving vulnerable populations, Dr. Ramy Barsoum is dedicated to improving healthcare access for all.

Dr. Ramy Barsoum’s journey began in 2015 when he started his own medical practice dedicated to making a difference in his patients’ lives. Equipped with extensive experience using ultrasound technology for diverse clinical applications and witnessing firsthand the tremendous impact on patient outcomes, Dr. Ramy Barsoum brought his expertise to the U.S. after relocating from abroad.

He deepened his proficiency by becoming board-certified in ultrasound from the Alliance for Physician Certification and Advancement and Cardiovascular Credentialing International. Today, as Founder and CEO of Advanced Sonography Screening™, Dr. Ramy Barsoum provides cutting-edge cardiovascular ultrasound solutions to help transform patient care.

Benjamin Mathew, RDCS, RVT

Founding Partner & Executive Vice President

Benjamin is a double Board Certified Cardiac and Vascular sonographer with over 20 years of clinical experience. He has worked at several of the top-rated hospitals in the nation. He spent most of his career at innovative hospitals such as MD Anderson Cancer Center, Penn Medicine and Temple University Hospital.  His time there allowed him to gain an enormous amount of experience with the latest cutting-edge technologies such as ECMO, LVAD, RVAD, Impella Heart pump, Heart Transplant patients and more.

 He has spent hundreds of hours in the Cath labs of these various institutions performing Echocardiograms in critical care emergency procedures such as cardiocentesis as well being involved in complicated elective cardiac procedures such as Watchman devices and Lariet procedures.

Benjamin spent several years in the private sector working at some of the nation’s largest private cardiology practices. One of Benjamin’s greatest passions is teaching. Being a 20-year veteran in the Cardiac Sonography field, Benjamin excels at teaching advanced techniques to improve accurate interpretations. Physicians and students praise Benjamin’s teaching style and highly recommend him.

Benjamin collaborated with Dr. Ramy Barsoum and helped cofound the company. He has been serving as the Executive Vice President at Advanced Sonography Screening™ since its inception.

Arthur H. Meltzer, MD

Cardiologist

With over four decades of cardiology expertise, Dr. Arthur Meltzer is a seasoned medical professional devoted to heart health. He earned his medical degree from the prestigious Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 1982. Dr. Meltzer went on to become a cardiology specialist based in Bala Cynwyd, PA. Throughout his impressive 42-year career, Dr. Meltzer has helped countless patients manage heart disease and live healthier lives. His extensive experience and dedication to the field make Dr. Meltzer a trusted source for cardiac care. Dr. Arthur Meltzer has been serving as Medical Director at Advanced Sonography Screening™ since 2023.

Jon George, MD

Cardiologist

Dr. Jon George is a renowned cardiologist in Philadelphia and beyond. His dedication to the field is evident from his over 100 published papers and his role as Editor for a leading guide to Interventional Cardiology. Also, he holds prestigious positions such as Director of Einstein Medical Center’s Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory and Clinical Professor of Medicine at Sidney Kimmel Medical College. Dr. George is never satisfied with his research and constantly innovates and cultivates modern techniques to help his patients. Too often, they come to him and his team because they were turned away from other medical facilities because of their high-risk factors or unsuccessful treatments. 

Vincent Varghese, DO

Dr. Varghese’s contributions to medicine extend beyond his Philadelphia/New Jersey presence. With over 50 manuscripts and articles published in reputable medical journals and frequent speaking engagements at national and international conferences, his research significantly advances the field. His expertise encompasses not just the heart but also peripheral arterial disease (PAD), offering advanced treatments for artery and vein conditions such as limb threatening artery blockages, DVT, and pulmonary emboli. Additionally, he is a pioneer of minimally invasive techniques for heart valve interventions.
